1. employers cannot ask prospective employees their prior salary information
2. employers must, upon asking, provide a salary range for the job in question

Hi, Mastodon! I'm a trans lady who draws stuff and toots about whatever goofy stuff pops into my addled gen-x skull.

Mostly I am working behind the scenes on graphic novels and short comic stories, so the "drawing" part of the Peggy value proposition is currently low.

I still can't get over "blue lives matter."

I wore green. The whole point of my oath was to protect the people in our nation. The first day of my service I knew I was promising to die before civilians died.

The idea that cops should murder civilians is against everything that I could ever believe in. Yes, it's a tragedy when cops die, but I assert that it is more of a tragedy when they kill.

Be a digital packrat. Get storage and throw everything in there even if you don't have a plan for needing it again. Don't be judgmental until you've had the chance to review it years later with the addition of hindsight.

I just found a bunch of IM chat logs from many years ago. In them were chats I'd forgotten with a former partner of mine. Jenny died last year and now it's like I'm talking to her again.

Also, just FYI, if I ever do anything that's hurtful to you or that you think could be hurtful to others, please let me know. I try to listen and learn, and I understand that Masto in particular is a place a lot of folks come to get away from stuff in more toxic corners of the Internet. So I will always try to err on the side of caution & kindness if alerted, even if I don't 100% "get it."
