@pzmyers maybe you shouldn't refer to Native Americans with a slur in an article decrying racism?
@pzmyers referring to Native Americans as "Indians" may not be the harshest term, but it's not exactly good form either is it? None of the articles you quoted used that form, struck me as odd that you'd choose to do so.

It is, of course, preferred to refer to them by their nation rather than generically.
Are you Canadian? It's less accepted there, where "First Nations" is the better term.
