This platform would be great if you could actually choose who/what you had to interact with, without half-measures, and without being guilted by the software itself if you try to filter people/things out.

And can your "echo chamber" nonsense. People can make grown-up decisions about who and what they don't wish to be bothered with, and still lead informed, well-rounded lives. People who complain about echo chambers the most also tend to have an insatiable need to be heard.

Bets on how long it takes for an unwanted Stories functionality to be rapidly developed by these total ledges, if only for the high abuse potential?

Today is a "Wow, movement really takes a lot of effort, doesn't it?" kind of a day. Workin' on it. Threw some stuff out. Put a thing or two away. Ate a few little donuts. Lots to do still, but hopefully, I'll do it.

Also: it was just pointed out to me (and you may all hear more about this from elsewhere) that this warning message is pretty creepy, and amounts to shaming people for not wanting to participate in federation, even if they'd be opting out to protect themselves. Seriously, fuck that, and fuck whoever decided on that wording.

About half of my limited follow list is there, but out of those people, one's active, and the active person and I haven't talked all that much, not in a few months, and they're not following me. (They're not at all obligated to follow me, either, just noting it to describe the situation accurately.)

On the other hand, all of the tone policing bullshit I've heard since I said what I said on Friday night has come directly from one instance.
