So... what did you read as a child that made you think? Or more importantly, made you want to be wiser and more virtuous!
@amos I just finished Sally J Pla's The Someday Birds - road trip with an autistic kid protagonist and his siblings by an #OwnVoices author - it was a Very Wholesome read
I *think* Catherine Webb's Horatio Lyle series would be appropriate as well, that's Victorian-era science and adventure
